Kisah Talut, Jalut and Bani Israel

It's so amazing when solutions and signs were sent from above when we were in the midst of kebuntuan and kehilangan arah. And the fact that it came from the holy quran made me feel so blessed for being a muslim.

These past few days I had been in my super-weakened mood upon being assigned with newest responsibility that I shall not be named (sorry), and while tadabur-ing ayat from Surah Baqarah in my first usrah of this semester, alhamdulillah my spirit had been restored.

This is one of the many many reasons why I love joining usrah, it's indeed therapeutic.

It came from ayat 246 - 252 from surah al-Baqarah, concerning the story of Talut, Jalut and Bani Israel. In case you're wondering which story was it, feel free to check the ayats in your quran or just simply click here for quick summary :)

At first I thought it was about how Bani Israil akan mengelat dengan apa jua cara sekalipun walaupun mengaku mereka berada di jalan Allah, and it was solely about ketetapan iman...but when my murabbi revealed to us the main highlight from the ayat, I was quite surprised as it was unexpected.

Just keep in mind that I didnt tell anyone about the gloominess that I had in my chest, I came to the usrah solely because it was our first meeting of the semester and I dont want to miss the taaruf, and hearing the comforts from the ayats made me realize how somehow God really helps us in really unexpected ways.

My murabbi revealed that what those ayats trying to say is dalam setiap tahap lapisan iman, we will always be tested. Tak kisah lah waktu kita nak mula-mula yakin ke, atau kita dah lama yakin ke dan tengah nak bergerak ke lapisan seterusnya, kita memang akan selalu diuji.

Take those Talut's followers for example. Pada mulanya mereka diuji dengan ajakan untuk berperang, dan ramai yang tak join. Lepas tu Allah uji dengan pilih Talut, a mere human like them as their pemimpin, tapi they all merungut. Lepas tu Allah uji lagi dengan larangan meminum air sungai tatkala dahaga, ada yang ingkar kecuali segelintir je daripada mereka.

And this segelintirlah yang menang melawan Jalut.

It's like ujian saringan untuk tahu siapa yang betul-betul layak untuk jadi those yang akan naikkan Islam, dan yang tinggalnya cuma sikit je lepas ujian demi ujian dilaksanakan.

And this what made me so taken aback. Baru diuji dengan sedikit responsibiliti je had made me so runsing, astaghfirullah astaghfirullah astaghfirullah.

There will always gonna be test demi test ahead of us, dan tak bererti yang dah lama di jalan Allah ni pasti mampu hadapi this ujian, anything is possible when it comes to Allah's will. Dan percayalah, jangan anggap jalan yang kita pilih ni jalan yang mudah dan senang mentang-mentang Allah dah janjikan bahawa kita ni akan menang. It's not easy, but it can be easy.

Yelah, yang segelintir tu mestilah cream of the cream punya kan?

With that being said ya Allah mohon teguhkanlah iman buat mereka yang pilih jalan Allah ini, dan with proper usaha I believe we can make it. InsyaAllah :)

May Allah jaga hati kita.

Changing

Finally I have found my long-lost goal for this new semester, which is cuba sedaya upaya untuk jadi individu muslim yang TAK ADA LANGSUNG sebarang keaiban daiyyah. It's about time to berubah ke arah yang lebih baik, especially when recently I keep thinking yang betapa hidup ini terlalu monotonous, asyik buat rutin yang sama berulang-ulang kali setiap hari tanpa ada contribute apa-apa benda ynag berguna untuk bekalan di alam yang kekal nanti.

It's not that I havent started apa-apa pun lagi untuk berubah, truth to be told I have been trying to change my habit seket demi seket ke arah yang lebih baik, but not totally. I know it's been hard, tapi insyaAllah dengan izin Allah, harapnya this year i'm gonna be fully berubah on few particular matter that I think memang tak baik dan tak memanfaatkan diri. Masing-masing kenal dosa masing-masing kan, so I shall not elaborate much further on those specific matters. Yang penting, no more this, no more that and such. I know that once we said yes, Allah will help us no matter what. Just believe in Allah, things for sure will be at ease eventually.

Lagipun it's about time, while the clock is still ticking. May Allah blessed my niat.

Winter Trip '12 - Part I - Poland (i)

OMZYXG the pictures are here guyssss as promised :)

First destination : Poland. In Poland, we visited two places; its capital which is Warsaw, and Krakow. Dua dua tempat ni merupakan dua tempat yang Malaysia hantar students study medik di Poland, dan di Poland jugak I met with my schoolmate yang study kat sini.

Since it was our first day, of course lah the gambar were not so many. Lagipun we are all guys kot, takleh nak camwhore sangat hehe.

Tapi ada lah jugak seciput.

Keep in mind that it was winter, so the view tak lah cantik sangat as in spring or summer. Tapi at least the whiteness of the snow made us look quite cerah in most of the pictures :P

So we all arrived in late evening, and while searching for halal restaurant for dinner, we walked around the town a bit so that tak kalut-kalut sangat tomorrow. Lagipun it's not really that late, it's winter time and pukul 6 ke atas dah gelap dah.

*click the picture for better resolution*

saw this building while walking, dunno what is it but I like the architecture
This is National Theater (Teatr Narodowy)
Gate of the tombs of unknown soldiers
...and our picture in front of it
And this is one of the guards who guard this place.
Agak lucu sebenarnya sebab bila difikir-fikir balik, we visited kubur malam-malam buta. Nasib baik nothing spooky happened. Anyway, keep in mind that it was winter time, the weather was super cold and we had been outside for too long, so we didn't take pictures much.

OLD TOWN

not so many people, sejjukk
loving the angle here, with the light and all
I lupa on sequence to where we went first the day after we arrived, tapi agak banyak jugaklah tempat that we visited, like;

WILANOW PALACE

Church in Wilanow
besides the church
random benda yang caught my attention. in summer i think ada anggur bergayut rasanya
Wilanow Palace with us. Wah macam budak-budak sumenye!
loving the angle here!
LAZIENKI PARK

See, even the pigeons were shivering!
The Floating Palace
as usual, us in front of it :)
smizing
Giving food to Mr. Peacock
PALAC KULTURY I NAUKI

In Russia we have this building too with same architecture, called the Seven Sisters
Us in front of the monument
with some old friends studying there
and we even left our "momento" in there too hehe :P

Ish vandalism ni
WARSAW NATIONAL STADIUM (UEFA EURO 2012)

the stadium
Le us
and finally...

IN OLD TOWN AGAIN (last night for souvenirs hunting)

when we arrived..
then..it's snowing so bad, so not taking much pictures
the old town, love the effects and hue and all
So basically that was it, sungguh tak teratur kan post ni? Well I did my best in selecting pictures and whatnot, so biorlah. Next one's gonna be in Poland too, but in Krakow, so stay tuned.

Later :)

Request; Winter trip - Intro

I completely forgot to upload my winter trip's pictures on facebook, padahal i've been specially requested by my dearest friend kot sebab dia nak tengok. It's been like almost a year dah, yet I haven't do anything. Haihs maafla, I completely lupa. Medik student la katakan, busy memanjang hehehe.

So anyway because uploading photos on facebook is way beyond mainstream nowadays, I chose to post them here instead. Lagipun tak terasa macam nak post kan kat facebook lah, sebab most of the photos diambil oleh my friend who is using big DLSR camera, and he already uploaded the album and done all the taggings...so kiranya kalau upload through my account pun rasanya akan jadi repetitive je kan. Buat menyemak laman sesawang orang cakap :P

So to my dearest friend(s) who specially requested this, I'm doing this for you :)

Hmmm, macamana nak start eh?

Okay...firstly, before this hassle-photo-crazed begins, meh nak gitau how I gonna do this. Since the photos are kinda banyak as we went bagpacking to five different countries, they will be splitted into five different posts, this one excluded. Dan memandangkan it's been like almost a year had passed, my memories were kinda rusty. So I am not going to explain in details on what did we do there, where did we visit bla bla bla, it gonna be five posts crammed with lots of pictures and few explanations based on the pictures. Lagipun I know you guys love seeing pictures right?

Just for the information and disclaimers, most of the pictures are dicilok from my friend's camera, my SII's phone camera dan banyak lagi sumber yang orang upload kat facebook. So basically I'm not the photographer lah. Various sources punya. And if somehow I didnt manage to find the pictures, yelah mana tahu ada orang privatekan/block me etc, dalam satu post tu akan ada seket je lah gambarnya. Nak buat macamana kan?

So....here some lil bits of info here and there about my winter trip the other day.

Well we went to five different countries, iaitu Poland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic and Germany. Memandangkan I have said earlier that it was a bagpacking trip, memang we all guna pengangkutan darat merentas negara bermula dari Poland sampai ke Germany. Tapi, untuk first trip ke Poland tu kitorang guna flightlah tapinya, dan balik ke Moscow pun guna flight. Waktu jalan-jalan rentas negara tu je yang guna pengangkutan darat seperti keretapi dan bas.

Duration masa rasanya dalam 3 minggu kalau tak silap, dan we all went cuma to the capital city of each country je, kecuali dua tempat di Poland sebab dari Warsaw nak ke border tu kena singgah dulu di Krakow. Tak kisahlah singgah satu tempat ke, dua tempat ke, as long as we can say that we already visited that country hewhew.

Matlamat utama jalan-jalan ni? Well sebenarnya saja je jalan-jalan, nak tengok beza negara masing-masing. Me personally tak suka sangat melawat negara Eropah sebenarnya apart from its cleanliness dan senang untuk navigate arah kalau sesat, I am more to a cultural-tradition person, tapi alang-alang we already are studying in Europe, apa salahnya merayau di sekitarnya untuk tengok suasana.

Lagipun memang ada banyak beza kot antara lain-lain negara. Jauh perjalanan luas pemandangan orang cakap, and it's an opportunity furthermore, rugi kalau tak grab. Lagipun kita boleh lah observe apa yang bagusnya pasal orang putih yang selalu dibangga-banggakan tu. Yang baik jadikan teladan, yang buruk dijadikan pengajaran, dan yang cantik dijadikan isteri wahaha.

So basically that was it lah, just wait for the pictures in my next post. I'll promise there will be quite a lot (or not)...and some will be posted with my face in it lah jugak unfortunately T_T. Takpelah...demi you yang requested and for others yang mungkin interested. Err...I mean not interested in me, tapi interested on the trip. Tapi kalau interested in me pun boleh jugak :)

So ciao all, till the next post. Later.

Mami Jarum

My heart sank when the patient told me that ya ne rabotayu, ne magu, ya invalidov while clerking for patients' medical history.

I asked about her occupation, and she said that she have no job, she cant work as she's disabled with shaky voice.

And I remember about asking this one lady whether she had bad habit before, like alcoholism or smoking or taking drugs, and she ranted about how life is unfair for 'victims' like her who doesnt drink and doesnt smoke, yet is sick.

Sometimes I hate doing this task, besides of the fact that it must be conducted in Russian (which I am so terrible of)..it also requires us to be quite a heartless Mami Jarum in order to get the info needed. And when thing like this happened, I feel so guilty for asking those sensitive questions. Tambah-tambah lagi when the person answered sounded like almost crying.

But you know, at the end of the day, you gotta do what you oughta do, even if its painful to go through. This is life isnt it? Just in case you dont know, life is heartless. Just saying though.

Autumn's Saving

Here goes my autumn saving, this bag is simply irresistible. Say no more to shopping till the winter sale :(

Not so prepared

Our life sure does full with unexpected surprises.

Just recently I heard about news of the death of two fellow Malaysian students who are studying in Russia in the amidst of gelak ketawa of catching up with friends upon the beginning of the new semester, which started today. Agak mengejutkan jugak sebenarnya since it was so unexpected, who knows in the middle of being so overly joyous in this festive mood and being happy for having such a great holidays with families, Allah reminds us for not being so carried away with dun'ya and be prepared for death. Siapa sangka kan?

When I heard about it I was so shocked. Well this news struck me so bad cuz it happened so sudden and so random. Like it could be happening to anyone of us very randomly in any time from now, no matter how prepared or not prepared we are.

It reminds me of one of the verses in al-Quran about death, which I forgot from which surah it is, but its like ajal maut dah lama dah ditetapkan untuk kita.

ps - Rupanya proses mencari ilmu di negara orang bukannya senang. Ya Rabb please bless my journey dan tetapkan my niat very very strong so that if Im gone, I am not gone for nothing.

Summer Updates (Again)

Ahoy readers!

Niat di hati I would like to post this during my long transit hours in Abu Dhabi, but I managed to get hotel during the stay and I slept my heart out by that hours, so yeah you can say that I kinda forgot about it, hehe. Anyway just to clear it out, I honestly have tried my best to keep this blog updated, but I am failing at it so bad, it's like I have so many things to say but I am just so lazy to type it out nor to lend some time at it...and I also felt that my heart is not into blogging anymore.

I know I am annoying for always be such an overanalyzing freak, but it felt like whatever post that I wrote seems practically childish and immature, and it's also getting ridiculous (and plain annoying also) to always keep saying the same bla bla excuses in almost every post that I made. So no more promises starting from today, it is what it is and I shall not touch about this subject anymore. No promises, no apologizing and no blaming yourself, just move on.

Well I typed this few days before I flew from Malaysia, its like lil recaps of what's been happening in my world during my short summer vacation, including Raya and such.

1. Quite shockingly, I didn't buy any vaju raya this year. We opted for white theme and I honestly re-use my high school's old white baju melayu that was unfitted for me back then...and for casual wear I just went for whatever clothes that I brought back from Moscow. But I did invested in few things though since sale signs were everywhere, and as I promised that I will go gaga in Malaysia for shopping, I honestly fulfilled that one with utmost perfection, lol.

2. Went to get my visa updated on Raya ke-3 to Raya ke-5 had made me super lethargic. Had to go down there from Kelantan to KL was such tiring, and my vacation days were burned into ashes just like that. Dah lah balik sekejap je, raya pulak tu. Grrr.

3. This year's raya tak banyak cerita atau movie menarik on tv, so weird. It's like all things in this raya were made in rush. But there were quite a lot of show that featured Dayang Nurfaizah though, although I didn't manage to watch any. I'm gonna search for that one later in YouTube.

4. Met my old primary school's friends on mum's function. They age so well, and all look so different. More mature too.

5. Tried my first Tutti Frutti (haha I'm so kampung, I know) on Raya ke-2, they were so masaammmm. Didn't notice that Tutti Frutti tu frozen yogurt rupanya. As much as I love sour-y stuffs,  I don't like yogurt. Well, they were not that bad. It's just in the matter of picking which ice cream is right to combine in your cup.

6. Kelantan's roads jammed so bad during raya. Nasib baik all my relatives are living not so distant from our home, kalau tak memang tak beraya lah gamaknya sebab malas nak sesak-sesak dalam jam.

7. Hate those who made events kenduri on Raya, just annnnooooying, sorry.

8. Haven't performed my Puasa 6 yet. Maybe I will do it in Moscow, here with few days left I gonna munch everything that I can so actively nom nom nom!!

9. House is getting back to its silent mode, since all dah habis bercuti dah. Then I wonder how it's going to be next year, with Asif in boarding school leaving ma and abah alone with Yah. Mesti senyap gila rumah nanti.

10. Counting my days to go back to Moscow. I love using Etihad Airways, albeit for the luggage's weight of course. Next time I wanna try Thai Airways or Emirates, and I wanna have long transit hours so that I can go out :)

11. I thought it would be easier for me to balik semula to Moscow since I balik sekejap je..which will make me less attached to home, but with my holidays being short and such, it made my doings everyday at home so crucial and beneficial, which makes me kinda attached. Well it's okay, everyone can be a little homesick sometimes, right?

So yeah, the time was a bit off since I'm already safe and sound in Moscow, but it's a copy & paste work, what do ya expect? Well in case of some might be wondering of me, things have been quite smooth here in Moscow and its such a relief (because in here my luck is not really at its best), and classes will start tomorrow...and oh it's soooooo effin' cold here. I know it's autumn but I didn't recall for autumn in Moscow to be this cold, it's 10 Celsius for crying out loud!

Well it's Moscow so sigh, cold is nothing. Hopefully in my way of adapting to this cold weather (not that I am not used to it) my hidung will be mancung like Muscovians haha.

So happy studying folks! Later.
